Bulletin Place – Sydney

Bulletin Place - Sydney found at The Pouring Tales 1

An unpretentious bar made it to the top; this could be the short biography of this little cocktail kingdom called Bulletin Place near Circular Quay in the heart of Sydney. One walks up the small stairs into this down to earth place and is surprised on what the bar has to offer. We took our seats at the bar and the eyes glance at this simply decorated but cosy place. Bulletin Place - SydneyWhiskies and the daily menus are displayed by two rolls of brown butchers paper mounted to the walls. It never gets dull in here as the menu changes daily, which is not often seen in the bar world. This asks for creativity and Bulletin place has plenty to offer. We are handed a palate refresher in an apothecary style bottle made out of fino sherry, pineapple vinegar, orange bitter, soda and sugar. Water is served too as you would expect in every excellent cocktail bar. Everything is done with love and the size of the place allows for it. 7 small tables and one larger one and just 4 people fit directly at the bar. The only downside was probably the cloudy ice but we neglected that little detail and instead indulged in a Penicillin variation made with Tequila and floated with Mezcal and a Rum Old Fashioned with PX Sherry and Angostura – both very well executed. I will be back.
